An excellent addition to the Scandinavian crime fiction. This one is set in Copenhagen.

While this one is centered around a truly diabolical crime (and as such, is wildly implausible), Adler-Olsen does a really nice job of highlighting one of my favorite aspects in straight police procedurals - actual investigation. His hero isn't some kind of super-genius but instead the sort of person that keeps shaking trees until something useful drops, which seems a much more accurate picture of how detectives solve crimes in real life.

This one takes you through the nuts and bolts of the abduction of a young woman in Denmark who has been missing for 5 years. The subtle clues and the detail are amazing
Enjoyed this first book in a Danish crime series, but it wasn't all that different from other Scandinavian crime novels.
