I have wanted to read this book for a long time, ever since seeing the amazing movie that Steven Spielberg made from it. The book did not disappoint, either in the intricacies of its incredible--bordering on miraculous--stories of so many doomed lives saved from destruction, to the crisp, tight prose of its author, Thomas Keneally. This book definitely deserves its status as one of the 1001 books you must read before you die. I think it was really hard for me to get into initially because of all the German and Polish words. After page 200 and with my trip to the Holocaust museum planned the book became easier to read and the story of Schindler and the Jews who worked for him propelled me on. I would definitley recommend this book but give yourself plenty of time to read it. It is not a book that you travel through quickly
