I have been enjoying the Scandinavian Noir Mysteries, and I like the Icelandic mysteries in particular, having read two of Indridason's mysteries. I liked this book very much. I am a history buff, so I really like the historical references, even though they were macabre.

I liked this book, but didn't love it. The topic of medieval Icelandic history through religion and sorcery sounded like it would be pretty interesting. And, it was to a moderate degree, but I never got fully drawn into the story; it remained very academic. I loved the description of Iceland and liked Thora & Matthew. I'll give the next book a shot.
