What Members Thought

This book came from the author's thorough research. Its fictional characters including the profoundly deaf Grania are set in Deseronto, Ontario in the early years of the 1900s. The book ends soon after the Great War ends, so it includes war and its casualties in its themes. The other major theme is deafness. I like realistic characters in my fiction and this book and a closely connected book by the same author, titled 'Tell' have characters who are so well-researched they might as well be real.
