This was a harrowing read that just got more disturbing as it went along. The author can definitely spin a tale, but is it a tale we really want to hear? The complete disregard for other human life in this book left me colder than the sub zero wind chills. I will be the first to admit I do not understand the mindset of any of these characters or why we as a society take such great interest in these types of feats. 1st person account of the climb to the top of Mt Everest in 1996 most of the group he was traveling with died up on the mountain. It is good, written a little defensively but I can't imagine the trauma of going through such an ordeal. I found it very hard to keep track of ALL the names (a lot of foreign sounding ones and hard to pronounce) so I started just skipping over them and kept the main climbing groups' names in mind. He is good at giving the visual of what it was like to be there.
