I just heard the author of this book on the radio today and figured it was about time I got around to writing a review. I finished the book a few weeks ago, so it isn't that fresh in my mind. I was a little nervous that this book was going to be like Three Cups of Tea. Regardless of the current controversy over the validity of Mortenson's book, I found Three Cups of Tea to be overwhelmingly self-absorbed. One of the most powerful books I've read in a long time. I started it this morning and didn't put it down until I finished it. Not only is the story gripping, but the writing is also quite good (these types of books don't tend in this direction...)
I would highly recommend this book to everyone!
