True life story of one young girl's experiences and survival in Cambodia during the time of Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge.
Amazing that someone whose childhood was affected by murder, starvation, and disease managed to not only survive, but also re-unite with those of her family who were left, and move on with her life.

This book is amazing and a must read if you are traveling to Cambodia or if you haven't heard of the genocide by the Khmer Rouge. Told from the point of a 5-year-old child, Loung Ung and how she survived under a communist regime that killed over 2 million of the Cambodian people. I highly recommend this book. ...more
