A little slow, but still very interesting. The Haj was fascinating. She ruminates on pagan rituals creeping into Islam, but doesn't seem to be bothered by the legalism of this ritual. Amazing to see the same response as Malcolm X--Muslim's of every color, accent etc. Update: how not surprising that her dark skin caused some of the "pure Saudi" Haj pilgrim to mistake her for a Pakistani/Bengali maid. Is there anywhere in the world that dark skinned people are respected?That's sad. Plan to finish ...more
