An artsy book, but surprisingly readable for it - McEwan draws a full world despite the narrow scope of his focus here. Interesting to read this now as many of Henry's political predictions turn out to be pretty accurate.

I didn't like Atonement and couldn't end up finishing it, so I was really surprised at how much I liked this book. The last 100 pages go incredibly fast. I understand why people like Ian McEwan now.
