somewhere on Amazon I saw this recommended, looked interesting, got it out of the library ... Chapter 1 is a great start, well written and easy to fall into the story. A bit like the Irish version of The Mists of Avalon. By the middle of the book I absolutely could not put it down - one of those books that you can't read fast enough, but then are sad when it's done (luckily for me, it's the first part of a trilogy).
