A novel that is getting a lot of buzz these days as it is being made into a movie. Our main characters, our contemporary Harry and Sally if you will, meet in college and continue to bump into one another as the years pass. I honestly didn't know much about this book before going into it but I had this general expectation of what it probably was going to be. The first few chapters I was sure I was right and then suddenly everything changed. I like that it kept me on my toes. Each chapter takes place on the same date of a different year, in chronological order for the most part. I love that it switches back and forth, one year telling the story in third person for Emma's perspective and the next year from Dexter's.

So, I enjoyed this book. It was an admittedly slow start, but I thought the relationship between the two main characters developed over time. It was a little tropey (why Emma would have anything to do with Dexter, at least after their first night is beyond me) but I felt like the story was compelling enough to keep reading.

Ending "format" was odd--not the actual story line just the jumping back and forth part.
Almost done and scaredI've guessed the ending. Art is imitating life too close to home here.
