A novel that is getting a lot of buzz these days as it is being made into a movie. Our main characters, our contemporary Harry and Sally if you will, meet in college and continue to bump into one another as the years pass. Dexter, our Harry, spends way too much time pursuing drugs and women for my taste, and Emma, our Sally, falls into writing and fame and fortune way too easily for my belief system to accept, but, other than these flaws, it's a nice little read.

I honestly didn't know much about this book before going into it but I had this general expectation of what it probably was going to be. The first few chapters I was sure I was right and then suddenly everything changed. I like that it kept me on my toes. Each chapter takes place on the same date of a different year, in chronological order for the most part. So, I enjoyed this book. It was an admittedly slow start, but I thought the relationship between the two main characters developed over time. It was a little tropey (why Emma would have anything to do with Dexter, at least after their first night is beyond me) but I felt like the story was compelling enough to keep reading.

Ending "format" was odd--not the actual story line just the jumping back and forth part.

Almost done and scared I've guessed the ending. Art is imitating life too close to home here.
Current audio book. Just finished disc one and really liked it.

I really enjoyed One Day, good characterization, lively dialogue, and an unexpected twist.

I read a few of the chapters, was thoroughly bored so I skipped to the ending.
