this is definitely getting me into the Christmas spirit! I liked this book more than I thought I would. I found myself more 'into' Ebeneezer's journey told directly through prose, instead of via movie. Also, when he cracked himself up after saying 'there is more gravy about you than the grave' to Marley's ghost, I giggled out loud. Bravo, Tim Curry. Thank you for making a classic more fun.

I just finished reading "The Man Who Invented Christmas" by Les Standiford.
And luckily for me, since this book was mostly about the history of how "A Christmas Carol" was written, "A Christmas Carol" was included in the book.
It is a short story and yet very powerful. Humanity could learn a lesson from reading about the ghosts of the past, present and future. I've seen the play almost every year and the book follows the play almost exactly. Yet there is something about reading each word and expe ...more
