I’ve said I’m going to read this book for the last three years, and now I’ve finally done it. Yippee! And, happily, it’s as good as they promised.

I'm sure this book has already been reviewed a million times, or nearly so, but I'll add my voice to the cacophony of voices praising this book. Though I, as a Christian, have reservations about the divination in this book (divination is forbidden in the Torah) I thought the book was well written, well constructed, and fascinating.

Enchanting

The circus arrives without warning:

This is a good one if you're into the Victorian magic genre. Much reminds me of "Johnathan Strange and Mr Norrell". Lovely story

I really liked this book, and I don't even know why. It was magical with an unusual kind of magic, that intrigued the reader from the first page. Readers who like tantalizing plots and settings will enjoy this one.
