Really sweet story and a very cool group of characters. - def worth reading. And I’m picky!

I would have liked this book much more if the near misses hadn't gone on and on and on. The first 2-3 were funny but then they just got silly. I listened to the audio version, which I thoroughly enjoyed due to the narrator's ability to modulate her voice and accent to each of the characters. I loved the Dad and his relationship with his daughter was the best part of the story.

Being a blood donor I wasn't entirely comfortable with the idea of passing on memories and personality traits along with the blood, even if it is just a fantasy thought up by an author.
However, getting over that, I found this an easy and compelling read. I thought towards the end that the story was a little like the plot of the film "You've Got Mail" which was no bad thing.
Funny and romantic - a lovely feel-good read. ...more

This book in typical Ahern style was quite entertaining, with a magical story. This one though was not as good as the other book of hers I read, The Gift: A Novel. The characters were likable, and Joyce's dad added a lot to the story. That old man has some spunk! Anyways, I did enjoy this book a lot!

Joyce Conway has an accident and receives a blood transfusion. Justin Hitchcock is a divorced professor who has moved to England to be near his daughter and he is talked into donating blood. After the transfusion Joyce begins having Justin's memories and they keep bumping into each other. A cute story if you can get past the unlikely premise. The character of Joyce's dad was my favorite, sweet , loving and funny.
