If Live and Let Die is the standard bearer for Fleming's time-capsule casual racism, this one is it for his offhand misogyny. I don't mean it as a dig; in some ways the unintentional humor that results is more entertaining than the actual plot itself. Honey Rider is not a Bond girl as we know and love them today in the films; instead, Fleming presents a neglected, abused, baby-voiced and barely legal animal whisperer as the height of sex appeal.
