I first read this book in 2015 which I reviewed on my blog. I am now celebrating my ten year blogversary and am selecting my favourite book from each of those ten years.

The author has a rich vocabulary, and wove an interesting tale with this story. But it was soooooo long, and kind of got hokey at the end. I did enjoy the historical aspect of this book (setting, India, in the mid to late 70 & early 80s). It was sad, emotional, good portrayal of the range of good and bad among people. The length of the book for me was the biggest annoyance, really. Guess I've got to go with shorter books in the future.
