What are Japanese schools really like? That's a question I'm interested in. Turns out, according to Bruce Feiler, Japanese schools are overcrowded and overly focused on discipline and structure. Why are they so successful, then? They are successful in producing students who work well in overcrowded, disciplined and structured situations.
