This was apparently Kundera's first novel and I enjoyed his counterpoint narratives, interweaving the lives of his characters. Not knowing much about music, but having read a lot of Kundera, the text was clearly organized like a musical performance, with harmonies, dissonance and chords striking in a beautiful mixture.
