Second read: Really enjoying rereading these books. There is something about Anne Shirley that just makes me want to fall into these books and hang out. Moving on to the fourth book soon, which is the first I’ve not yet read.
First read:
I enjoy all of the Anne books, and this one was solid. A little bit predictable, but heartwarming and lovable and upbeat - all of the reasons why we love Ann!

Anne goes to Redmond to attend college. This book covers the four years Anne is in college though not much is said about the actual college experience. It has been awhile since I read the first two Anne books but this one came off as disjointed and more a series of short stories than an actual novel. I still love Anne and the citizens of Avonlea and was amused by some of the proposals Anne receives. I was very disturbed by a chapter in which Anne and her friends try to kill a cat for no reason o

Listening to this in the car now. Sadly, for once, I don't really like the reader from Blackstone Audio--kind of a shrill voice. I'm sticking with it though. So far it isn't as good as the others, but we're just getting started. Mostly I don't really find Phillipa that compelling.
