Murakami's fourth book, and in it he's mastered the ability to create real-life adjacent worlds. He had dabbled with this in A Wild Sheep Chase but goes all in here. Call it magical realism if you like.

Excellent Murakami as usual. Very similar to other works: lost/disappearing/strange women, contentedness, mystery, magical realism, no cats this time.
