I remember reading and enjoying Chaim Potok’s The Chosen in High School, but I think i appreciated it even more as an adult. Reuven Malther is a modern Orthodox Jew living in Brooklyn in the mid-1940s. He studied the Torah regularly with his father and attended a parochial school. I believe this is the 3rd read of this book. It is simply wonderful. A book about two fathers and their sons, coming of age in the 40s. What I wouldn't give to have the Jewish education, the burning desire to learn. Alas, I believe with my heart and soul in Jesus.

I have read The Chosen by Chaim Potok several times over the years. It's such a great book with so much to discuss and think about. It's truly a manual on becoming a scholar and finding meaning and purpose in life.
