Shelves: couldn-t-finish-i-tried-really

Honestly very slow and got abt 120 pages into it and was not interested. I then saw that it was made into a movie and watched that and couldn't say it was much better than the book. Long boring but I figured since I committed to NOT finishing the book, I might as well give the film a chance.

1 star b/c I can't give it zero... it'll look like I didn't rate it. ...more

This book is amazing. It is hauntingly beautiful, and disturbing at the same time. When I picked it up, I had no idea what the story was really about and as it is told, the reader picks up clues and tries to figure out the plot. This is a book whose issues and consequences, I will think about for a long time. I would pair this book with "The House of Scorpions" for a great discussion and I am going to recommend my sci-fi/fantasy book group reads it. This is a book that crosses genres and age gro ...more
