What Members Thought

This is a moving paean to Danticat's two fathers - one, her biological father in New York and the other his brother who raised her for eight years in Haiti. One might expect this memoir to center on the upheavals in the author's own life - both personal and political - but instead, it's the brothers' lives we come to know best - as seen through the eyes of their shared daughter, who also becomes a mother during the course of the story.
