What Members Thought
I have a very difficult relationship with this book. McCullough's desire for me to love these characters radiates off the page in little Pigpen-esque stink waves, and it totally puts me off. Part of it is that they're so very wooden because McCullough makes their personalities all about their genetics (particularly Justine and Dane), as if they're these cast-in-stone automata that have no ability to be influenced by life experience.
