What Members Thought
If you're at all interested in politics, science, philosophy, advertising, sociology, or almost any other human discipline, 1984 is an important book.
Of course, everyone knows this, and much of the major strokes of the storyline, but I found the real plot to be nuanced and eerily relevant. I couldn't help thinking about the upcoming election, and that the warnings found in 1984 still ring true for today.

Re-read for me. I think I read this in high school, along with Animal Farm and Brave New World. I don't think this is a book that is exactly likable, and I don't think it is meant to be. It is a warning against Totalitarianism, showing it for what it is, for which it does a good job.
