This is one of those "I can't believe you've never read it!" everlasting-shame deals, but now I can claw back some iota of credibility as a well-read person. And now on the other side of Orwell's tale, I completely get why this is a staple of reading lists everywhere - it's complex and thought-provoking while also being deeply entertaining.
