This book is short but gives plenty to think about. There are three sections. The first section was a short memoir about the author's experiences in Auschwitz (Poland) and later Dachau (Germany) during World War II. He was already a psychiatrist specializing in suicide prevention at age 37 when he entered Auschwitz.
