I wish I were as strong and outspoken as Lizzy some days, others I wonder if I am too quick to judge people. (Thank goodness Mr. Darcy is not a real person...)

Oh, to laugh!! What a fantastic tale! I love the 6 part BBC show, but the book, of course, beats it hands down. It is interesting to think about the different characters in relation to Jane, who seems to have no flaws in her manner or character. I have to wonder who I would get along with the best. Which characters would drive me crazy? I really loved this book.

note: My original review had no stars and said I read it in Oct 2011 but there were no comments. I must have started it and gotten bore ...more

I read the shorter version of this book so I think it might be unfair to judge it. I'm sure the full version would have been more meticulous and would give me a better sense of Jane Austen's writing. However, even based solely on the plot, this book didn't blow my mind like I thought it would. Maybe because it was so hyped I expected so much more out of it. For the time period it was written in though, it was pleasing and fun to read. ...more
