This is definitively a classic masterpiece. I liked it very much and I suffered along with Tess for most part of the novel. Although it relays on some 19th century social rules to build the drama, it is still pleasant to read it. And it captivates your attention from the first page to the last.
My copy of this book is in Romanian.
