This book tries too hard to be clever. Or maybe it doesn't try hard enough. All the jokes are very "on the nose." I like the idea of a story about Christ's "lost" years, but this narrator is far too annoying and obnoxious for me to be able to stand reading anymore.

I wonder if I would have liked this a lot more if I had actually read the Bible before. It's actually nearer a 3.5-star read - it's funny (even hilarious in some parts), endearing, and interesting even to an ignoramus like me.

This was an entertaining read and one that would not anger most believers, I don't think. Those with an intimate knowledge of the Bible and Christ's life would get more of the subtle references that were lost on me, but nonetheless, I still enjoyes this fictional account of Christ's childhood as he searches for intstuction on how to be the Messiah.

An interesting concept, and there were some funny parts, but mostly I was just bored.
Laugh out loud hillarious. Pure brilliance.
