An excellent family saga, that includes a bit of magic realism amidst life's struggles and suffering. This novel follows the Trueba family, through the changes in the world in the twentieth century. My only regret is that the history is not pronounced enough for me. I like to know if the events told in the story are actual historical events with dates and places so I can look them up and learn more about them. I don't believe there is a date or city named throughout the book. The author leaves y ...more

Trueba me dejó impactado, qué vida tan complicada y dolorosa.
Los Del Valle, sin duda, una familia muy particular.

Las últimas páginas son una analogía sobre un capítulo doloroso para Chile, el régimen militar de Pinochet, donde el tío de Isabel murió.
