I find the Parasol Protectorate series to be a fun, adventurous romp and this one was no different. I really like Alexia and her no-nonsense practicality and the world that Carriger is creating in her books.
I was already annoyed with book 2 and gave it a few months before giving book 3 a try. And I have the first 4 books so I felt obligated to read them. Epic fail! It was a painful read. Worse than book two. I may just not ever get to book 4 or seek book 5. And I'm not sure I will even care to give the new series a try due to the disappointment of this series. It was a dull long winded read where nothing exciting happened to progress the series along other then the obvious. Yawn!

I love this series!!!
It has great characters, witty comments and still some unsolved mysteries to be revealed, such as the story of Alexia's father.
This series have made me want to read more steampunk, so thank you Gail Carriger for letting me in this wonderful world :) Now I just have to wait until July for the next book...
