How could I have missed this as a girl?!

I had wanted to read this book for years. However, I thought of it as a children's book and thought I was well beyond the age where I would enjoy it. How wrong I was. I loved this book. I was enchanted by Anne, her charming stories and her antics. I also enjoyed the visual images of Prince Edward's Island and the depictions of the peaceful, rural life on the island. I have been to PEI so I found it easy to visualize Anne and the rest of the characters living in this beautiful place and I felt th

I've read a lot of children's novels, but never have I met such a delightful character as bright, talkative, opinionated, stubborn Anne Shirley. I'm pleased to have read her story, finally, after all these years. I wish I had read this when I was a child - it could have changed my life.
