This is a very well written and highly absorbing book about espionage set in pre-WWII and WWII. as always, Furst's characterization is excellent, his characters really come alive. The arc of the story is incredibly complex, almost too complex, sometimes you have no idea how different strands of the story are connected, or won't find out until much later. The only difficult part for me is that the violent scenes which are incredibly vivid and visceral, and therefore are quite disturbing. For inst ...more
