I cannot speak highly enough about Mortenson's cause. So tell me, why was such a beautiful, moving story allowed to be written so HORRIBLY? It infuriates me. This book is an offensively sloppy piece of journalism. The phrasing was frequently beyond awkward, and quotes would be inserted without introduction. This is book that might not be the best of literary invention, and if you're reading this book to be blown away in literary ecstasy, you're missing the point.

Three Cups of Tea is a story of humanity, hard work and dedication. This book blew my mind. It is an amazing inside perspective of a part of the world that is so foreign and misunderstood. The story of what Mr. Mortenson has accomplished is great by itself, but more so it really underlines how important it is for us to develop an understanding of the complex social, economic, and cultural structure of this part of the world.
