Greg Mortenson must be difficult to live with: a driven guy with a "fluid sense of time", frequently absent from home, and when he is there unable to sleep and down in his basement working on his next plans-his wife must be a saint!
But 5 stars for his chosen work. The book is not without its faults, but as a true story of how much one person can accomplish with a dream and the best of intentions, it is a must-read.

I cannot speak highly enough about Mortenson's cause. So tell me, why was such a beautiful, moving story allowed to be written so HORRIBLY? It infuriates me. This book is an offensively sloppy piece of journalism. The phrasing was frequently beyond awkward, and quotes would be inserted without introduction. The author's narrative flip-flopped constantly between blatant idolization of Mortenson and a dry "Just the facts, Ma'am" approach. One moment I was reading the Great Legend of Greg Mortenson

This is book that might not be the best of literary invention, and if you're reading this book to be blown away in literary ecstasy, you're missing the point.
Three Cups of Tea is a story of humanity, hard work and dedication. This book is amazing! Greg seemed like an unlikely philanthropist, but because he is so nonjudgmental and willing to like like the people he is serving, he is the perfect one to help! I am very inspired by his experiences! I'd recommend this book highly!

Greg Mortenson brings schools to remote areas of Afghanistan. It is amazing to hear his tales of building good will by building schools and bridgets.
