Very disappointing. The author appeared to do an extensive amount of research for this book. But even with that, I had difficulty with how often she would say how another person felt during the trip. Too ofter she mentioned how fearful the party was but did not mention how she came to that conclusion. Sometimes the diaries were mentioned but the amount of emotion that she tried to interject fell flat. The decisions of the native indian tribes to attack or not attack were based on tribal lore tha
