This book lives up to the acclaim. On of the best books I've read, if only for it's ability to transport you into the story within the first two lines of the book. Which happens again each time you pick it up to start a new chapter. A truly fastinating story with interesting parts of history woven in. Highly recommended.

Talk about getting swept up. There's no way that you don't get swept up in this wonderfully written tale that takes you back to the heyday of the geishas in Japan. Absolutely gorgeous book, the people, the culture, the writing - gorgeous!
