What Members Thought
Although this book got much acclaim I found it another do good story of an American going to a war torn country to do good work. I disliked the main character; found her irresponsible and selfish which affected my liking the book. It does give much information about daily life of a woman in Afghanistan.
Odd story. Trying to do good thru one of the few avenues open to women in that culture--looking good for their husbands. I wanted to slap her sometimes, other times I thought she was great.
A view into the human part of Afghanistan which adds considerably to the one-sided topics one sees in the news. Enjoyable, and quick read.
