I would not call this a great work of literature but about halfway through it sucked me in and became a page turner (so to speak, given that I listened to an audio version). The first half was a bit of a slog. Nefertiti's ascension to the throne was interesting enough that I wanted to know more but I rarely felt an urge to pick up the book. Easy read, enjoyable, not sure how accurate it is (or isn't) but go read a history book if you want that.
There is something lacking in the writing. With all the activity and conflict you still really never feel like much is happening.
The cover art is awesome!!
