“It is very important to believe in yourself,” Materena continues. “You can have thousands of people believing in you, but if you”—Materena points a finger to her daughter—“if you don’t believe in yourself, you’re not going to be able to take that step forward you need to take to be a truly happy person. A very interesting story and characters development set in a society and part of the world which is new to me. I enjoyed it very much and I discovered a new very good writer.

The story chose me at the right time. Currently experiencing mother-daughter tug of war. I liked how the book explored that dynamic through Materena and Leilani.
