What Members Thought

Annie
Nov 20, 2012 rated it really liked it
I really like this Nigerian writer's voice, and her portrayal of the Biafra war from different perspectives (a young house boy, a middle-class female academic, and a white British writer/journalist) was passionate, riveting, and heart breaking. I knocked off half a star, however, for the somewhat lackluster ending. I will look for more works by Adiechie, and look forward to her next novel.

4.5 stars

Read for my Around the World challenge.
