An excellent story, this book tells of an American woman named Sunny who loves living in Kabul (most of the time), and who runs a coffee shop where many different people appear. The story is very moving, as she saves a pregnant widow, meets with a British acquaintance and another American to try to make some positive changes, shows genuine caring about those who work for her, and much more. This is a very interesting glimpse into what life was like in Kabul not very long ago.

OK - this book reads like a Hallmark Channel movie set in Kabul, Afghanistan. I takes place in a coffee shop run by an American exPat. The characters include three Americans, one Brit, and 5 Afganis with various beliefs and levels of tradition. Although the book does not shy away from the current problems in modern Afghanistan. the main focus is the unlikely friendship that develops among these characters as they get to understand each others problems and backgrounds.
