I don't know, you guys. I liked this book but I wanted to love it. I don't know if it was because I was switching between the ebook and the audio, and the ebook had some printing errors, but I kept feeling like I was missing something. Like I was being really dense and not understanding what the author was trying to tell me or not picturing what she was trying to describe. Sometimes I wondered if I'd skipped a whole page. First of a detective series set in Quebec. Not a gruesome murder thriller but not a cosy either - somewhere in between with a serious case and some light hearted banter between characters.
I rarely read about art and artists, I think the last one I read was The Goldfinch which was not an enjoyable experience. Here, it was nice to read on how the characters make design (paintings, interior design, etc.) decisions based on their emotional status or some other motivation. I liked that the solution involved art.
