I only bought this on the airport because I had lost my Kindle and this was the only book on the shelf I was somewhat interested in. An amazing tale to be sure and I'm sure it will be a great movie, but I found the book a bit long in parts - didn't need that much to drive the suffering of the POWs home.

This book is amazing. The writing was wonderful and the story broke my heart a million times. And on top of that was an ending that held so much hope. I loved every dreadful moment of Louie's story. Having family members who served in WWII, it gave such insight into their story and why there can be reluctance to share. Loved it.
