Interesting as a period piece regarding the role of women in society in the late 60's and early 70's. Women then were just beginning to want to do something in addition to marriage and children.

One of my all-time favorite books is The Handmaid's Tale, by Margaret Atwood. So I used this opportunity to read her first published novel. I found it very strange. I think it will be a book that I will think about for a while, slowly digesting its meaning.
