What Members Thought

I should have been sobbing at the end and I wasn't.
This was the first book I've read that's set in Bangladesh and I chose what seemed to be a readable historical fiction. It's meh, it follows a common structure - following a family and set against a major historical event, with an attempt to pull emotions at the end. This book checks of Bangladesh, in my books set around the world challenge. I really enjoyed this one. It felt effortless to read, which is quite an accomplishment when covering a heavy subject like a revolution. I enjoyed learning about a historical event that I previously knew nothing about. I also really liked the characters. You could really feel what they were going through. Recommended.

I definitely should have read this and not listened to the audio book- I think I'd have enjoyed it MUCH more.
