I guess perhaps there are some spoilers here, but I am hesitant to suggest that a book this bad could be "spoiled".
Yikes. This book was highly recommended by a few people so I was excited to pick it up from the library when my hold came in. An extremely long book. I found myself shaking my head at some of the choices that the author made (like having the male lead experience a traumatic rape), and I didn't like the smug heroine particularly, but I did enjoy the historical setting and just the verve of this book. I don't think I will read on in the series.

This book has many of the attributes that I like in a book; an exciting plot, time travel, romance, is well written, seems well researched and is historical fiction. Why then, has this book been a real slog for me?
