Wild Swans is an incredible book about just how much only a few generations of Chinese people have been through. If all you've ever known was growing up in a free capitalistic society and socialism or communism sounds kind of interesting, or at lest parts of it do, read this; please. Interesting autobiography of a Chinese woman who grew up in Mao's China. It is a good look at China from WWII to the end of the twentieth century. Since little is known except via Mao's dictates, it is quite revealing.

Well written and kept me interested. I hadn't realized how much I did not know about China's recent history. Told this way, it hits much closer to home and helped me see and understand what is happening in my own country. It brought phrases like "class warfare" into a whole new light. I was amazed at how much I learned. How a person can love communism. This is a must read!
