What Members Thought
This book is a really great vehicle for understanding the rise of communism and the reign of Mao in China. One thing that has to be taken in to account though is the author's obvious bias. Her family was completely targeted during the Cultural Revolution so therefore it's hard for her to look at the situation objectively. Overall though, it's a really good book and I certainly learned a lot from it.

This was a great history lesson and eye-opener. It really made me wonder how I was so blessed to be born when and where I was. Learning about these women, their culture, and the lives they lived was amazing! The book is full of good stories and information, sometimes it was too much though...I actually didn't finish reading the book because I felt like I had learned enough (kind of a proud judgement call for a reader I guess) but I would like to go back and finish it and see how it finishes up.
